The two pillars
The pack is built around two deep systems. Almost everything else (combat, exploration, storage, decoration) exists to support them.
- Tinkers' Construct: replaces vanilla tools. Forge custom tools from parts, build a Smeltery, and upgrade with modifiers. This is your gathering & combat backbone.
- Create (plus a dozen addons): rotational machines, contraptions, automation, trains, and even buildable aircraft. This is your industry & building backbone.
Progression at a glance
- Tools first. Craft a Part Builder + Tinker Station and make a stone/flint pickaxe, no metal needed.
- Smelt & cast. Build a Melter, then a Smeltery, to cast metal parts and start alloying.
- Spin up Create. Andesite Alloy → a Water Wheel → your first Mechanical Press / Millstone for ore processing.
- Explore & fight. Raid dungeons and towns for loot; take on Cataclysm & Mowzie's bosses for unique gear.
- Reach the End. The End portal is re-gated: you must collect any 12 of 16 unique eyes (see below).

NoteOpen Settings → Controls in-game for the complete, searchable list. Many mods add their own optional binds (left unbound by default).
EMI recipe viewer
Tinkreate uses EMI (not JEI) as its recipe/item browser, configured in a low-distraction mode: the item list stays hidden until you start typing, keeping your screen clean.
- Search: click the search bar (or just start typing) to reveal matching items.
- View recipe: hover an item and press R to see how it's made.
- View uses: hover an item and press U to see what it's used for.
- EMI shows multi-step trees, Tinkers casting, and Create processing inline. It's your fastest way to learn a recipe.
Reaching the End
ImportantVanilla Eyes of Ender do not activate the End portal in this pack. End Remastered re-gates the End: there are 16 unique "reforged" eyes scattered across structures, mobs, biomes and crafting, and you must collect any 12 different ones and place them in the portal frame. There is no combined master eye.
It turns reaching the End into a mini-quest across the whole world. See Exploration & Structures for the full list of eyes and where to find each one.
Display & performance
- Distant Horizons renders a low-detail version of terrain far beyond your render distance, set a modest vanilla render distance (8 to 12) and let DH handle the horizon for smooth FPS.
- Mob health bars appear above creatures when you look at them.
- WTHIT shows the block/entity you're looking at (blocks only in this pack, no tool-needed clutter).
- BetterF3 gives a cleaner, organized debug screen (F3).
- Screenshot Gallery lets you browse your screenshots in-game from the pause/title menu.
- Shaders are supported via Iris (Settings → Video → Shader Packs).
